X5 speak normal English, they're not stuffy accountants. Mike especially takes the time to understand our business, and brings ideas; real life business ideas, not just financial. They're not overly formal; we've come across accountants in the past that tell you what you can't do all the time, and X5 are not like that. We've grown a lot since we've been with them. They've done a good job. I like that they're more up to date with technology; they use the latest software and automate everything as much as possible. X5 try to make things easier and don't complicate things like some accountants do.

I like the fact that there is a personable relationship with X5. I like that we know Kevin Alderton from before he was part of X5. We particularly like working with the case manager, Sharon Bishop, and the friendly, professional relationship we've formed with Julie, the administrator. X5 have been quite supportive with the development of certain aspects of our business, including the switching of our accounting program. X5 compare favourably to other accountants we've used.

X5 have been really helpful and responsive. If there are any issues, or if I need help, or advice, when I email there's normally a response within a day. They do my accounts so I really don't have to worry too much about the quality of the work that they do. In terms of reliability I can rely on them to do a good job. From the impression I have working with these guys, I don't intend to look anywhere else.

X5 have got a good personal service, they listen, and are creative regarding thinking about the problem you're trying to address. They've really helped us with our financial systems; the way we approach our accounting, as well as producing management reports for us. X5 are much better than our previous accountants. We went from a small accounting firm to these guys and the service was so much better; the personal service was better, but also having the supportive team on the back end was very helpful.

I like the proactivity: rather than having to chase them down for information, it's their ability to get in touch with you with updates, and industry news that's relevant to your business. They're also quite innovative in terms of the solutions that they come to you with, for example, they came at the start of the pandemic with a spreadsheet that helped you work through the finances, regarding furlough and the rest of it, so that's quite good. We've been working with them for 20 years probably, prior to them being X5. They've been very good, understanding, and knowledgeable not just in accounts but also structure of the business, and more strategic planning for the business.
